21st Annual URC Women's Conference

April 12, 2014

Welcome to the URC Women's Conference, 2014!

Dear Sisters in the Lord,

Hymn writer, Fanny J. Crosby penned the words in the refrain of her song, “To God Be the Glory”,

“Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,

Let the earth hear His voice!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,

Let the people rejoice!

O come to the Father, thro’ Jesus the Son,

And give Him the glory, great things He has done”.

These words are a victorious testimony coming from a young woman who was blind for most of her life; she sought to give God the glory not because of her circumstances in life but because of her personal relationship with Him. Fanny Crosby held fast to the rich promises of God through Christ and those same rich promises are held out to each of us today, whatever season of life we are in.

This year, Lord willing, we will come together for our 21st annual women’s conference on Saturday, April 12th under the theme of “Giving God the Glory”. Living for God’s glory doesn’t come natural for any of us and it is only by His grace that we can do this in our daily thoughts, words, and deeds. We know in our heart that it is through living for God’s glory and not our own glory that we will experience richness and contentment.

We look forward to hearing Rev. Mitchell Persaud address us under this year’s theme of “Giving God the Glory” – what does it look like in our day to day life, what are some hindrances to living as such and joy we truly experience as we seek God’s glory in whatever we do.

It is our hope and prayer that as we come together on April 12th it will be a time of encouragement, praise, fellowship, and giving God the glory for the “great things He has done” and will continue to do.

On behalf of the board,

Liz Schouwstra
